My role at Toast
I’m a designer at Toast and part of the print team. I bring projects to life from the first brief to the final, client-ready product. My role spans everything from typesetting detailed 200+ page reports to producing striking large-scale catalogues. Every project is a new puzzle, sometimes a page-turner, sometimes a showstopper, and that variety is exactly why I love what I do.
Around the studio, I’ve earned the nickname “Mapzonie” because I create clear, visually engaging maps that seem to find their way to my desk. Whether it’s a promotional city guide or a simple “don’t get lost” route map, I enjoy the mix of logic and creativity it takes to turn a mess of lines into something both accurate and easy to read.
Because design should work for everyone, I also create WCAG 2.0-compliant documents, ensuring accessibility isn’t an afterthought but part of the design’s DNA.
Personal Bio:
I’m a Banbury native, or “Banbarian,” as locals say, which means I can navigate the town centre without a map. It’s ironic, given my job.
My love of design started young. While completing my HND, I received a Gold Star Award in the Premium Alcohol Packaging competition run by Starpacks, proof that creative ideas can win awards, even if they never made it onto an actual shelf.
Outside of Toast, I swap my mouse and keyboard for a music stand and one of three instruments: flute, violin, and piano. I perform in local orchestras and theatre productions. Whether it’s tackling a tricky concerto or a complex design brief, I enjoy the mix of technical precision and creativity that both require, with the occasional wrong note as a reminder that every skill takes practice.
Qualifications:
BA (Hons) Creative Arts and Design Practice, Graphic Design from Oxford Brookes University.
I can help you with:
Designing Annual Reports, Brochure Design, Catalogues, Canva Templates, Impact Reports, Infographics, Magazines, Map design, Marketing Collateral, PowerPoint Templates, and WCAG 2.0-Compliant Documents.
Previous experience:
Before joining Toast, my hands-on studio experience was limited but formative. I got a crash course in print at Banbury Litho, where I shadowed the design, print, and packaging teams to see how projects go from idea to reality.
A short internship at Buzz Graphic Design gave me my first taste of studio life, with tight deadlines and creative problem-solving. I quickly learned that communication is just as important as creativity in getting a design over the finish line.
Like many 2020 graduates, my journey took a slight detour into a Music graduate teaching position before landing at Toast in 2022 – a role I gained after work experience with the team.
Since then, I’ve gone from new recruit to trusted designer, taking on projects that challenge me to balance creativity, precision, and the occasional bit of map-making magic.
