My role at Toast

I’m a content editor at Toast, and I deal with all things written. Whether it’s creating freshly optimised copy for websites or polishing up a slightly stale report for new audiences, I’m fascinated by words and putting them together.

Personal Bio:

Sex and the City premiered in the UK in June 1998 and that was when I decided that I was going to be a writer. I was very young and not nearly critical enough of late-night HBO dramas, as I don’t spend much time gossiping over brunch dressed in a tutu and £400 shoes, but I’ve been lucky enough to make writing my career.

Fast forward almost 30 years and writing has proved to be a brilliant gateway to a lot of exciting (and usually ridiculous) experiences. Ever been zipped into a too-small party dress in a hotel bathroom by Miss Russia? Not everything is that left field: you’ll often find me hanging out with my family, pottering in the kitchen or wandering across the fields with my dogs listening to murdery audiobooks.

Qualifications:

BA(Hons) Journalism from Staffordshire University.

I can help you with:

Copywriting, SEO, content editing, and content planning.

Previous experience:

I started writing in the dying embers of print for magazines and newspapers, before being dragged kicking and screaming into the digital age. I joined Toast after a stint in specialist magazines, and I am happy to embrace the wide variety of clients that come through our big orange door (or appear on Zoom because we’re modern now).

I’m still an old dog learning new tricks, and I offer my freelance writing services on the topics I love (mostly cakes and indie video games).
