Challenge

VIVOBAREFOOT is a revolutionary, back-to-basics shoe designer based on the simple principle that being barefoot is the healthiest way for you and your feet to be. They had an unusual requirement with a tight deadline: they needed Toast to create a free standing POS to be installed in their flagship store in Covent Garden to educate the consumer of the material make-up of the new Primus Bio, their latest design.

Approach

We quickly understood that the project not only needed to communicate the key sustainability benefits of the shoe, but to embody them! We created a range of initial sketches to reflect the various ideas and their individual benefits.

Solution

The winning concept allowed the customer to fully interact with the raw components that made up the sustainable nature of the shoe. The whole unit was constructed with recycling in mind from the reusable foam frame to the carefully selected recyclable plastic containers. The unit was fitted in-store and received incredible feedback from customers. Most importantly, the shoes sold out shortly afterwards!

With the speed that the retail world moves, it is essential to not only develop creative ideas quickly but be able to deploy them in-store as promptly as possible. Toast quickly grasped the creative requirement and provided a number of solutions, developing them and moving to production within a very short space of time. Since installation the only problem we have had is keeping up with demand from our customers when the shoes sold out completely!
