Munich RE is an international company that specialises in the entire value chain of reinsurance, primary insurance, and insurance-related risk solutions.
Icon set design.
Munich RE approached Toast to design a number of icon sets to illustrate the more specialised services they provide.
The icons needed to follow the look of existing icons and branding. They had to to be clear, easy to understand and work at small sizes on digital platforms including websites and mobile apps.
Process.
Before starting any sketches, we established the creative route and style for the icons.
We also discussed how these would work as a set. Once this was agreed upon, we started working on sketches that could easily be amended and reworked if needed.
Once the sketches were approved, we created artwork using Adobe Illustrator. We presented these more polished icons for final approval or any final tweaks.
The finished icon set designs were then supplied as individual files ready for website and print application.

Icon creation workflow.
The icons were produced in sets to create a concurrent work flow.
This enabled work to continue on new icons while the icons already created were checked and reviewed.
We sent the sketched concepts first. Once approved, these were artworked and sent for tweaks. Final versions were then signed off and SVG files were created and sent to the client.
