During these unprecedented times, Toast is here to help you with any projects that you need to get done!
As we’re a digital business, we’ve been able to get the entire team working from home and connected.
We’re able to work on anything you need; from artworking to websites and you can get hold of us as-per-normal.
For many of our clients, work is a little slow at the moment, so we’ve created a list of things that you could be looking to get done to improve your marketing once we all come out the other side.
As we’re all going to be online a lot more over the next few weeks and months, now could be a good time to take a look at your website and make improvements to it.
There are plenty of things that you can do yourself, and other stuff that we can help you with.
Check your website performance.
Check your website using Google’s Page Speed Insights to get a score out of 100 for both desktop and mobile versions of your site. If you’ve done this before, do it again. Google’s checks and recommendations change over time and you could find that your site needs some improvements.
If you’d like to buy a keyword report, complete the form below and pay via PayPal – we’ll send you the report and an invoice.
Check your rankings.
Do you know what your site ranks for and where? If you’ve not recently done any keyword research on your site, we can run a report for you to show you how your site is performing.
This will give you some insight about pages of your site that could rank higher and win you new business if they were improved slightly and drive more organic traffic to your site.
We use SEM Rush to generate these reports, a basic account would cost your $99 per month to get the full Domain and Keyword report, but we’re offering them at £10 ex VAT for the next few months.
Domain & Keyword Report £10 + VAT.
Complete the form below and pay via PayPal.
Get a website audit.
Googles tools will give you an overview of your site. Our free website audit will identify the issues, show you where they are and also tell you how to fix them.
There’s usually a mix of technical and non-technical fixes for most sites – this means there are things you can do and things you’ll need a WordPress developer to do – that’s where we come in!
Again, it’s worth doing an audit even if you had one done recently.
Check your internal linking structure.
Internal links are crucial in helping Google (et al) understanding your site and its content.
Ensuring that pages of your site all link to each other in a planned and understandable way makes a huge difference to where your pages rank in the search results.
We’ve recently developed a FREE WordPress plugin that allows you to check your site for internal backlinks on a per-page basis.
When you are on a page of your website, you can enter a keyword that’s relevant to the page you are on and the plugin will show you where that keyword is used on other pages of your site, allowing you to open the page and add the internal link.
It also shows you which pages are already linked back to the current page, and the anchor text used by each link, meaning you can ensure you get a good range of anchor texts to avoid too many links using the same text.
The plugin is currently awaiting approval from WordPress, once approved, it will be available for free.
Review your hosting.
If things are quiet, now may be a good time to review your current hosting arrangements and move your site to a better, faster server.
We host the majority of our sites on WP Engine, a company dedicated to WordPress-only hosting.
All our sites are hosted on Google data centres in London and are lightning-fast, secure and safe – our servers only host the sites we look after, not 100s of other peoples websites like most shared hosting accounts.
If you’d like to move your site to our dedicated WordPress environment, get in touch.
Give your content some love.
Reviewing the content of your website takes time but does have a beneficial effect on your website’s rankings.
If like many people, you are finding things a little quiet, a content review is something that you could implement over the next few weeks.
This can be as simple as checking over all your text content for spelling errors, to finding holes in your site’s content and writing new articles to get more pages ranking.
We can help with a content review, so if you’d like to get started on one, call us on 01295 266644.
Search Engine Optimisation.
When times get tight, it can often be best to try and capitalise on what you’ve already got.
Spending some time optimising the content of your website that already ranks to make it rank better can be one of the most cost-effective and easiest ways of getting more from your website.
We offer a wide range of both off-the-shelf and bespoke Search engine optimisation packages that work for businesses of all sizes.
If you are also finding that you have some time on your hands, producing new content that helps your site rank for important keywords can also be something you are now able to do.
We offer the full package SEO service, which includes researching Keywords and writing content through to simpler, cheaper packages where we advise, you write and then we post and optimise.
Print and Branding.
We have seen a fair few print projects put on hold over the last few weeks, but there’s still plenty you can do to keep your marketing moving.
Go digital with your brochures.
We can take any brochure or leaflet you currently have and turn it into a static or interactive PDF file that can be hosted online.
Address your brand.
If your branding simply consists of a logo, now is a good time to review this, invigorate your branding and hit the ground running when we all come out the other side of this Pandemic.
You might want to think about giving your logo a refresh, creating that style guide you meant to do months ago or simply having the design team create a complete set of logo files for you in all formats.
Creating a style guide for your brand is also something the creative team can help with – this could be a review of your brand assets, tone-of-voice, fonts, image styles and so on.
If things are quiet, take advantage of the time to really get your branding focused and finished!
Sort your social.
With everyone online, your social media branding needs to be tip-top to stand out.
Our creatives can review your current social media branding and suggest how you can improve it.
From Facebook banners to staff avatars, we can help you get everything on-brand and working hard.
As we’re all working remotely at Toast, we are still able to take on new projects and finish existing ones.
