Toast exists to use design, digital and creative thinking to help organisations communicate more effectively, grow responsibly and make better use of the resources available to them.
Our purpose is to create positive and meaningful impact through the way we run our business, the work we produce and the relationships we build.
We aim to provide fair and supportive employment, work responsibly with clients and suppliers, reduce the environmental impact of our activities, and use our skills to support organisations and initiatives that contribute positively to society.
We integrate this purpose into our business strategy by considering the impact of our decisions on our people, clients, suppliers, communities and the environment, alongside the long-term commercial success of the company.
The steps we’re taking
We’re not claiming we’re changing the world, but we’re doing what we can to help
People-first
We put our team above our profit. All Toast staff work a 4.5-day week on 5-day pay.
Digital-first
We champion digital solutions over printed work. Where we do supply print delivery to clients, we do our utmost to minimise its environmental impact.
Carbon offset
We do our bit by contributing to Ecologi to ensure our staff offset carbon where possible. We’re a paperless office, we avoid unnecessary project miles, and we champion environmentally sound design practices.
Supporting charities
Every year, we donate £3,000 worth of our design time to a charity to use for rebranding, website work, or whatever they need.
Bee-friendly
We actively maintain our studio garden to be a bee-friendly environment and a place for staff to take time out.
Shutdown
Every year we completely shut down from lunchtime on Christmas Eve to the first working day in January. This gives all staff a full break from work and does not come off their holiday entitlement.
